Repsol

How do you give a large organization a proprietary testing methodology rigorous enough to de-risk real decisions, and make sure it actually gets used across the company?

CONTEXT

Repsol wanted its own proprietary way to test innovation ideas before committing real resources to them, a repeatable methodology the company could call its own, rather than borrowing ad hoc tools each time a new idea came up.
We built a full experimentation methodology from the ground up: a process for identifying the assumptions behind any new idea, a way to prioritize which assumptions to test first based on risk and uncertainty, and a structured library of testing methods suited to different situations, from simple customer conversations to live market simulations. We documented the complete approach in a detailed playbook designed to become Repsol’s own. To put it into practice, we trained the first cohort of cross-divisional innovation champions, equipping them to apply it and to train the rest of the organization in turn.

Repsol now has a proprietary experimentation methodology built specifically for how the company innovates, with a trained network of champions actively applying it and carrying it forward across the business.
