DETROIT (WXYZ) – On Wednesday, the new name and branding for Detroit’s first public bike share system will be unveiled.
Lisa Nuszkowski, the executive director, told 7 Action News it’s an exciting moment for the non-profit. The work to bring the Detroit Bike Share to fruition has been going on behind-the-scenes for roughly five years. The bikes will officially launch in May.
“We think about how many times we get into our car to drive a mile, just to go down the street and have to look for parking and maybe get a parking ticket,” said Nuszkowski. “We think the bike shares a good solution to those types of trips and we’re looking forward to people trying it out soon.”
